Greetings and welcome to the home of the resurrected Whig Party of New York. The Republicans and Democrats have offered the people very little, and quite frankly, nothing really changes with either party in power. We have ever more taxes heaped upon us, our liberties are taken from us, the cost of living increases while our wages stay stagnant. The corporations get richer, government policy promotes poverty and dependence, and the middle class vanishes. We fight wars all over the world that are Unconstitutional. Our borders are left unprotected as millions of illegal aliens invade our local communities with no help from the Federal government. Property and School taxes are out of control. Eminent Domain policies have stolen land from home owners. Our right to keep and bear arms is daily threatened. The traditional family is under attack and the life of the unborn has become disposable. Many voters have been left without a voice. We agree. The Whig Party had it's beginnings at a time when our Country was still ruled by England and struggling to be free. The Whigs were the voice of the people. We will be a party of the people and for the people. A united people that deserve to be represented by honest men and women who will look out for our best interest. The Whig Party of New York will be concentrating on State and Local issues. We believe that by electing good and decent people to local offices we can and will restore our State, and eventually our Republic, to Constitutional limits. We must take back our Republic "One State, One County, and One community at a time". Get involved locally and restore your freedom! We invite all Patriotic New Yorkers to join us in our Crusade to elect worthwhile candidates and restore decency and honor to our government. We will need organizers and active leaders in all 62 counties of the State. If you wish to help please contact us by E-Mail or the Information Request form listed below. Bear with us as we get the party and this web site up and running. E-Mail us with any thoughts or comments: info@whigpartyny.com

While the Whig Party of New York will be concentrating on State and Local Issues, and feel that this is the best way to restore our Republic, we will promote National Candidates who represent our views on limited, Constitutional government .

Don't be fooled by other "Modern" Whig Party's. We are the true inheritors of limited and Constitutional government.
"Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government.... Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.... The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. Europe has a set of primary interests which to us have none; or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. Hence, therefore, it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves by artificial ties in the ordinary vicissitudes of her politics, or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities.... It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world; so far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it; for let me not be understood as capable of patronizing infidelity to existing engagements. I hold the maxim no less applicable to public than to private affairs, that honesty is always the best policy. I repeat it, therefore, let those engagements be observed in their genuine sense. But, in my opinion, it is unnecessary and would be unwise to extend them." George Washington Farewell Address 1796 |
